Sardina del Norte
Sardina del Norte is located in the North West of Gran Canaria in a little fishing village. This quaint golden sand beach is ideal for people who would enjoy admiring marine life. Sardina del Norte is West facing so gets plenty of sun throughout the day so be sure to pack the sun cream.
It is also home to some highly-rated seafood restaurants where you will get to taste all the local catches. If you haven’t guessed from the name, sardines are the popular fish served among restaurants, so if you are a seafood fan then Sardina del Norte is the place for you to visit.
Las Canteras
If you are visiting Gran Canaria by cruise ship then you might see that Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is on the destination list. If you find yourself at this port then head on over to the Las Cantera beach which is roughly 2.8km away.
Las Canteras is one of the longest beaches in Gran Canaria reaching 3.5km long. The beach is a marine reserve which makes it a perfect spot for snorkelling and taking in all the marine life.
It is also a popular spot for surfers and a place to grab a nice drink at one of the local bars and admire the sunset along the golden sand.
Anfi del Mar
This man-made beach is located in the South West of Gran Canaria. It boasts palm trees, floral displays, and tranquil waters. It can be a romantic hotspot for couples, take your loved one here for a stroll along the soft sand and end up and one of the many restaurants.
There are also some great activities to get involved in on the beach such as volleyball and tennis.
Maspalomas
Maspalomas is the most popular beach for holiday-goers in Gran Canaria. Although popular it never feels crowded as it’s one of Gran Canaria’s biggest beaches. Golden dunes are stretching all along the 6km beach.
Families may want to be aware that there is a famous nudist section that is surrounded by the largest dunes on the beach. If you enjoy history then the Maspalomas lighthouse is a popular tourist spot in Gran Canaria, built in 1861 and standing at 65 meters tall the lighthouse took 28 years to build.
